Pickens and Lamb, Punished for Indiscipline in the Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens was disciplined by the team due to an incident prior to the game against the Las Vegas Raiders. According to executive vice president Stephen Jones, Pickens missed the team bus on Monday, which resulted in him being benched. In addition to Pickens, CeeDee Lamb was also benched for the first series of the game. The decision was made by coach Brian Schottenheimer, who justified the measure for disciplinary reasons. Lamb revealed to the media that both he and Pickens were punished for not respecting the team’s curfew at 10 p.m. on Sunday, after dining and having drinks at the Red Rock Casino.Following the Cowboys’ 33-16 victory, Schottenheimer indicated that the players were informed of the disciplinary action before the game, but did not offer specific details. Stephen Jones explained that the decision was based on the players’ behavior. “I think a lot of people thought they had to be together because they are great friends, but, believe it or not, one was from the night before and the other missed the buses,” Jones stated. The owner and general manager Jerry Jones, in a separate interview, expressed his disapproval of players’ late nights before games. Yes, I have them.
