Colts Secure Bernhard Raimann with Million-Dollar Extension

The Indianapolis Colts have secured one of their key players for the future. Left tackle Bernhard Raimann has signed a four-year, $100 million contract extension, according to a team source. Raimann, former tight end from Central Michigan, has become a fundamental piece for the team. The contract extension ensures his permanence in the team, preventing him from reaching the market next season. Selected in the third round of the 2022 draft, Raimann was in the last year of his rookie contract. He has shown significant improvement each year and, last season, proved capable of playing a crucial role in the team’s future. The team believes Raimann still has room to grow. He has only played offensive tackle since his third year in college, during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. Raimann, born in Austria, arrived in the United States as an exchange student in his junior year of high school, which allowed him to continue learning American football, a sport he first encountered in his native country. This led him to rise quickly and have the opportunity to play in college. Despite its rapid development in Indianapolis, there was some uncertainty about whether this agreement would materialize.

From my point of view, they are not on the same page. As I understand it, the figures still don’t add up, as the team values my position differently than my agents see it. But we are working on it.

Keeping Raimann was important for the Colts because of the timing. Indianapolis is revamping its offensive line after the free agency departures of center Ryan Kelly and right guard Will Fries, both players joined the Minnesota Vikings.
