Browns linebacker Devin Bush Arrested for Assault
Cleveland Browns linebacker Devin Bush was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment in Pennsylvania on Sunday, according to court records.
According to a criminal complaint obtained, police were called to a residence in a Pittsburgh suburb on Sunday due to a report of assault. A woman, who identified herself as Bush’s girlfriend, stated that Bush assaulted her and took her car keys.
The couple had an argument which, according to the complaint, led to Bush becoming more aggressive. While the woman was recording the argument with her phone, Bush chased her around the house trying to take the phone, according to the complaint. She reported that she was cornered against a massage table in an office and that Bush put all his weight on her before taking the phone and smashing it. The woman left with her daughter to a neighbor’s house, according to the complaint.
Police discovered cuts on the bride’s wrist and on the outside of her right foot, as well as the remains of the shattered phone, according to the complaint. Bush admitted to breaking the phone, but denied having exerted physical violence.
Bush, 26, has a preliminary hearing scheduled in Allegheny County court for May 20.
A team spokesperson said Monday that the Browns are “aware and gathering more information.”
In his first season in Cleveland in 2024, Bush started 10 games and recorded 76 tackles, which ranked fourth on the team. In March, the Browns re-signed Bush to a one-year, $3.25 million contract.
Bush was the tenth pick of the 2019 draft by the Steelers and played his first four seasons in Pittsburgh before spending the 2023 season with the Seattle Seahawks.
