KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs have ruled out three key players for their Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Right guard Trey Smith, tight end Noah Gray, and cornerback Chris Roland-Wallace will not be able to participate in the game.

Key Losses for the Chiefs

Smith, who was selected for the Pro Bowl last year, will miss his second game of the season due to a sprained right ankle suffered last Sunday in the victory against the Indianapolis Colts. Mike Caliendo, a three-year veteran, is expected to take his place in the starting lineup.

He knows everything in the system. Being able to come in and do the things he did is valuable to us.

Matt Nagy, offensive coordinator
Gray entered the NFL’s concussion protocol after suffering a concussion in the final quarter against the Colts while making a reception. Robert Tonyan, an eight-year veteran, and Jared Wiley, a second-year player, will fill the void left by Gray. Roland-Wallace will miss his first game of the season due to a back injury. Rookie cornerback Nohl Williams is expected to be the Chiefs’ nickel cornerback. A positive piece of news for the Chiefs is that coach Andy Reid confirmed that starting running back Isiah Pacheco will return to the lineup for Thursday’s game. Pacheco has been out since October 27, when he suffered a right knee injury in the victory over the Washington Commanders. When playing against the Cowboys, Pacheco, along with the injured trio of Smith, Gray and Roland-Wallace, will have 10 days to rest and recover before Week 14.
