Bucs Secure Zyon McCollum: 3-Year Extension and $48 Million

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have secured cornerback Zyon McCollum’s stay with a three-year, $48 million contract extension. This was reported by agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus, along with Robert Bailey.

The agreement, which includes $35.4 million guaranteed, secures McCollum in Tampa Bay through the 2028 season.

This renovation is in addition to that of right tackle Luke Goedeke, who signed a four-year, $90 million deal on Tuesday. With these two extensions, the Buccaneers achieve important goals before the start of the 2025 season.

McCollum, selected in the fifth round of the 2022 draft, earned a starting position after a standout performance in 2023, where he played nine games as a starter due to injuries to Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean.

In 2024, McCollum started in all 17 games, allowing a completion rate of 57.4%, his best mark in three seasons, with two interceptions, 17 passes defended, and 82 tackles.

One of McCollum’s most outstanding plays in the 2024 season was a pass defended on third down and five yards to go, with 47 seconds remaining in the final game. This action not only preserved the Buccaneers’ one-point lead over the New Orleans Saints, securing their fourth consecutive divisional title, but also helped Mike Evans achieve his eleventh consecutive 1,000-yard season.

In addition, McCollum achieved an important interception in the Buccaneers’ 20-16 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 2.

Outside the field, McCollum was recognized with the “Good Guy Award” from the Professional Football Writers of America Association, Tampa chapter, in 2024, for his collaboration with the local media.
