The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have secured the continuity of their leadership by signing multi-year contract extensions with coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht, as announced this Thursday.
Although the specific terms were not disclosed, sources close to the matter indicate that Bowles’ agreement extends for three years, until the 2028 season.Jason and Todd’s leadership has been crucial to the success of our organization. The winning culture they have established positions us well for the future.

Bowles and Licht’s Trajectory
Bowles, 61, is preparing for his fourth season as head coach with a record of 27-24. During his tenure, the team has won three consecutive NFC South titles, from 2022 to 2024. His 27 regular season wins position him as the second-best record in the franchise in his first three years, only surpassed by Bruce Arians. I am excited to continue working with Jason in the coming years as we build on the success we have enjoyed and achieve even greater goals.
Since 2019, the Buccaneers’ defense, under the supervision of Bowles (who was previously defensive coordinator), has remained among the best in the NFL. The team leads the league in rushing defense (93.8 yards per game), yards allowed per carry (4.0), and fumble recoveries (68), and ranks second in sacks (281.0) and fifth in red zone efficiency (53.8%). In his career as head coach, Bowles has a record of 53-65. In addition to a period as interim coach of the Miami Dolphins in 2011, Bowles led the New York Jets for four seasons (2015-2018), with a balance of 24-40.I am very grateful to the Glazer family for the trust and belief they have shown in what we are doing here.
