Bucky Irving, Buccaneers running back, out with injury
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving is facing a double challenge. In addition to a foot sprain, he is suffering from a shoulder subluxation, which will keep him out of action for at least two weeks. According to sources, Irving did not inform the team about the shoulder injury until Tuesday of last week. This means he will miss Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks and is also expected to miss next week’s home game against the San Francisco 49ers.Irving also expressed his thoughts on who is by his side as both a football player and a person. Coach Todd Bowles indicated that the foot injury is different from the one Irving suffered last season. In 2025, the Buccaneers’ offense has largely depended on Irving, who already has 430 yards from the line of scrimmage, the sixth-most in the NFL at any position in the first four weeks. The next closest player on the team is rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka, with 291 yards. The Buccaneers have also had to deal with the losses of two of their starting offensive linemen, Luke Goedeke and Cody Mauch, who were placed on the injured reserve list. Wide receiver Mike Evans will also be out for several weeks due to a hamstring strain. Tristan Wirfs and Chris Godwin were unable to make their season debut until Week 4 due to injuries. In the absence of Irving, the Buccaneers will count on Rachaad White, who has started in 40 regular season games and is currently averaging 4.7 yards on 23 carries. They will also rely on Sean Tucker, who has only had one carry so far this season, but has an average of 5.0 yards per carry in 66 career rushing attempts, and rookie Josh Williams, who had 1,494 rushing yards, 600 receiving yards and 17 total touchdowns at LSU.“God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. Don’t cry for me when the war is over,” Irving wrote in an Instagram message.
