Alex Wright Secures His Future with the Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns defensive end Alex Wright and the franchise have reached an agreement on a three-year, $33 million contract extension. The deal, which includes $21 million guaranteed, was confirmed by Wright’s agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Shawn O’Dare.
Wright, 25, has established himself as a key piece in the Browns’ defense. In nine games this season, he has achieved three sacks, positioning him as the team’s third-highest player in sacks. In addition, he has forced a fumble and recorded nine tackles for loss of yards.
Since being selected by the Browns in the third round of the 2022 draft, coming from UAB, Wright has accumulated a total of nine sacks.
Before this extension, Wright was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the current season.
