Significant Losses for the Bills against the Dolphins
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Buffalo Bills will face the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night with significant absences on their defense. Linebacker Matt Milano and defensive tackle Ed Oliver have been ruled out for the game.
Coach Sean McDermott confirmed on Wednesday during his weekly radio interview on WGR 550 that both players will not be available. Milano suffered a pectoral injury during Sunday’s victory against the New York Jets and did not participate in the second half of the game. Dorian Williams will take his place as a starter.
Milano, 31 years old, has had injury problems in the last two seasons, missing significant playing time. McDermott indicated that it is still premature to determine Milano’s downtime.
Oliver, for his part, will miss his second consecutive game due to a left ankle injury, suffered during a training session last week.
The Bills’ starting cornerback, Taron Johnson (quadriceps), is listed as questionable, although he has expressed feeling “ready to play” after missing Week 2. Backup cornerback Cam Lewis (shoulder) is also in doubt.
