The Buffalo Bills continue to reinforce their receiving corps with the addition of veteran Brandin Cooks to their active roster.

Cooks, who was released by the New Orleans Saints on Saturday and became free from waivers on Monday, requested his release, according to Saints coach Kellen Moore. This process was finalized during the past week.

The Bills have been moving Gabe Davis from the practice squad for the last two games. In addition, the team also added Mecole Hardman this month, but he was placed on the injured reserve list due to a calf injury.

Second-year receiver Keon Coleman has been ruled out for the last two games due to disciplinary issues.

Tight end Dalton Kincaid leads the team in receiving touchdowns with four, despite having played only eight games this season.

The Bills’ offense has struggled in away games, scoring under 20 points in their three road losses this year. The team is preparing to face Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The Bills’ general manager, Brandon Beane, stated that the team tried to acquire players before the trade deadline, but no deals materialized.

Cooks, selected in the first round in 2014 by the Saints, has accumulated 729 receptions, 9,697 yards, and 60 touchdowns throughout his 12 seasons in the NFL.

This season marked his second stint with the Saints, after also having played for the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys.

In his 10 games with the Saints this year, Cooks recorded 19 receptions for 165 yards and no touchdowns.
