Bijan Robinson Seeks Excellence: Training with Christian McCaffrey

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has expressed his desire to emulate the performance of San Francisco 49ers versatile running back Christian McCaffrey. To achieve this goal, Robinson intensified his preparation during the offseason, seeking McCaffrey’s experience and knowledge. The connection between both players strengthened when Robinson spent almost a month training with McCaffrey in the Los Angeles area during June and July. The training included joint sessions and recovery work, an aspect that McCaffrey values enormously.

Preparation was not limited to physical training alone, but also included recovery, a crucial aspect for McCaffrey’s success. During this time, Robinson had the opportunity to learn firsthand McCaffrey’s recovery methods.

It was great, he and I gave each other a lot of advice and fed off each other’s knowledge in the field. We worked throughout the month, so I was able to see how he worked, he was able to see how I worked, and we were able to put it together and it was really great.

In addition to on-field training, Robinson and McCaffrey used an innovative red light therapy in an elevation chamber called Stratosphere ATC. This training method, designed by Bobby Williams, helps improve red blood cell production and lung capacity. McCaffrey’s approach to recovery is something Robinson admires and seeks to incorporate into his own routine. McCaffrey’s dedication to ensuring his body is in optimal condition before each training session is an aspect that Robinson considers fundamental.
Last season, Robinson proved his worth by ranking among the league leaders in yards from scrimmage and rushing yards. His performance was impressive, and now he seeks to take his game to the next level, drawing inspiration from McCaffrey’s approach. The relationship between Robinson and McCaffrey extends beyond competition on the field, forging a brotherhood that benefits both players. They are expected to face each other in Week 7 on “Sunday Night Football”, but outside of that, it seems they have established a bond as fellow running backs.
