Bengals Release Zack Moss: Decision Analysis
The Cincinnati Bengals have made the decision to release running back Zack Moss, according to the team’s announcement this Wednesday. The news marks a change in the team’s configuration, generating various reactions among fans and experts.
Moss, 27, began training camp on the injured list without football activity due to a neck injury he suffered last season, which ended his participation in the game.
In 2024, Moss signed a two-year contract with the Bengals worth $8 million. After last season, Moss and Cincinnati agreed to a contract restructuring for $1.7 million in 2025. This Wednesday’s release will cost the Bengals $1.88 million in dead money against the salary cap and will save Cincinnati $1.2 million in the salary cap.
During the eight games of last season, Moss ran for 242 yards and scored two touchdowns, sharing responsibilities with Chase Brown.
In this preseason, Cincinnati signed running back Samaje Perine and selected Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks in the sixth round.
