EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Abdul Carter, the young linebacker for the New York Giants, was relegated to the bench in the opening series of Sunday’s game. A source revealed that the rookie fell asleep at the team’s facilities and missed a recent rehearsal. Carter did not participate in the initial defensive series in the Giants’ home loss to the Green Bay Packers. After the match, the player took responsibility for the incident, which occurred during the week, and stated that he must accept the consequences of his actions. On Monday, Carter reacted to a social media post sharing the report on the trial, denying having fallen asleep.

I didn’t fall asleep, I was recovering. However, that’s my responsibility!

Later, Carter posted on X: “When hate doesn’t work, they start telling lies!”
After the sanction, Carter recorded a tackle, a hit on the quarterback, and two pressures in 45 plays on Sunday. He played every remaining play after he was expected to start in place of the injured Kayvon Thibodeaux. Tomon Fox, a former practice squad player, started in his place. This has been a difficult rookie season for Carter, the third overall pick in this year’s NFL draft. He has only managed 0.5 sacks in his first 11 career games, although he has had multiple sacks nullified by penalties. According to reports, being late to meetings has been a constant for Carter during his rookie season under Brian Daboll. However, Daboll was fired last week and replaced by Mike Kafka, who decided that the correct sanction was to leave Carter out of the initial series. The Giants (2-9), who suffered their fifth consecutive loss on Sunday, will play away against the Detroit Lions in Week 12.
