Zion Williamson Returns to the Court with the Pelicans

New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson was cleared to return to play and did so on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets.

Williamson had been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring on November 4, which prevented him from playing for eight games.

During Williamson’s absence, the Pelicans suffered six consecutive losses. Coach Willie Green was fired on Saturday after a 2-10 start to the season.

Before his return, Williamson averaged 22.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.0 steals per game this season.

In addition, Pelicans forward Saddiq Bey (left ankle sprain) was also available to play against Denver. Guard Jordan Poole (left quadriceps strain) missed his eighth consecutive game. On the other hand, point guard Dejounte Murray remains out while recovering from a ruptured right Achilles tendon.
