SAN FRANCISCO – The Golden State Warriors have made the decision to cut guard Seth Curry, anticipating his return to the team in the first weeks of the season.

This measure has been justified due to the financial limitations faced by the team in the context of the new salary cap. The Warriors find themselves in a situation where they cannot afford an additional contract with the veteran minimum salary until early November.

Golden State’s roster will keep its fifteenth and final vacant spot until the guard’s expected return.

Seth Curry, younger brother of Stephen Curry, has been training at the team’s facilities and participating in the only preseason tour in October, although he has not played in the preparation matches.

Seth began his 11-year career in the G League with the Santa Cruz program, but chose to explore other options, going through 10 NBA teams. His goal was to forge his own professional path, distancing himself from his brother’s shadow.

His performance stands out for his shooting effectiveness. Curry has made 945 three-pointers throughout his career, with a percentage of 43.3%, ranking seventh in the league’s historical standings.

This summer, Seth considered it was the right time to join Steph, who has always wanted to play with his brother in the NBA. Although the reunion is delayed, the plan is still on, even after this administrative decision.
