The Minnesota Timberwolves face the Golden State Warriors this Thursday, with the possibility of going down 2-0 in the Western Conference semifinals.
The Warriors won the first game 99-89 on Tuesday, thanks to Buddy Hield’s 24 points. Jimmy Butler III contributed 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Stephen Curry exited that game with a hamstring injury and on Wednesday was diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of his left hamstring. He underwent an MRI and will be re-evaluated in a week, the Warriors reported.
Although the team did not give an exact timeframe for his return, it will depend on how he responds to the rehabilitation of the first muscle injury of his career.
Minnesota will look to bounce back after a performance in which they didn’t score any three-pointers in 15 attempts in the first half, tying the record for most misses without a make in a playoff half in the last 25 seasons.
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards also missed all 8 of his field goal attempts in that half, tying the record for most misses without a make by a Timberwolves player in a playoff half in the play-by-play era (since 1997-98).
Will the Warriors go home with a 2-0 lead or will the Wolves tie the series?
