Tatum doesn’t rule out return for NBA season: Surprise in the Celtics?

Less than a month before the start of the NBA season, Boston Celtics fans remain expectant about the upcoming scenario. However, Jayson Tatum seems to be working hard to ensure his participation in the next season.

Tatum, who is recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered in May, attended a joint practice of the Patriots with the Commanders in August, without using a walking boot. During an interview on “First Take”, Tatum shared his thoughts on the expectations of the Celtics and how his injury could give Jaylen Brown a greater leadership opportunity.

First of all, I haven’t said I won’t play this season.

Recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon usually requires an extended period, which could encompass most of the season. The Celtics have shown Tatum’s progress through social media videos, where he is seen training in the gym. In August, he was seen at the Patriots’ practice without needing to use a boot or support.

The most important thing is a complete recovery. And I’m not in a hurry… at all. But I’m also not going to rehab six days a week for nothing.

Tatum has been in constant contact with other NBA players who suffered the same injury last season: Damian Lillard, Dejounte Murray, and Tyrese Haliburton. The Celtics’ first game will be against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 22 in Boston.
