76ers Secure Justin Edwards with New Contract
The Philadelphia 76ers plan to sign forward Justin Edwards to a new three-year contract, according to sources close to the situation.
The decision comes after the team declined Edwards’ previous contract option.
The negotiations for this new agreement involved the 76ers, as well as Rich Paul and Josh Hairston from Klutch Sports, who represent Edwards.
In the previous season, Edwards averaged 10.1 points and played 26 minutes per game.
Edwards’ new contract will include two guaranteed years, according to sources. For next season, the player will receive $2 million, following the 76ers’ decision not to exercise their $1.9 million option.
Edwards proved to be a valuable player in the team’s rotation during the season, with a 45.5% field goal percentage and a 36.3% from the three-point line.
