BOSTON – Kristaps Porzingis, center for the Boston Celtics, is available for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the New York Knicks.
Porzingis, who didn’t play in the second half of Boston’s Game 1 loss on Monday due to an illness, was upgraded from probable to available about half an hour before Wednesday night’s game.
Sam Hauser, reserve player, will not play after suffering a sprained ankle in the first game of the series.
In Game 1, Porzingis did not score on his four attempts in 13 minutes of the first half, achieving four rebounds and one assist. Hauser missed both shots in four minutes of play.
Coach Joe Mazzulla commented that Porzingis still feels the effects of an illness that kept him out of action for several games at the end of the regular season.
