Free agent forward Javonte Green is close to finalizing a one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Green, 32, split last season between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in a total of 68 games.
Standing at 6 feet 5 inches, Green is expected to bring a defensive presence to Detroit’s wing rotation, which already includes players like Ausar Thompson, Jaden Ivey, Duncan Robinson, Caris LeVert, and Ronald Holland II.
Throughout his career, Green has participated in 263 games over six seasons, playing for the Pelicans, Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, and Boston Celtics, averaging 5.3 points per game.
