Paul George will miss the start of the season with the 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers star, Paul George, will not be present at the season opener due to his recovery from knee surgery performed during the summer, according to sources close to him.
Although George has shown considerable progress, he still needs to meet certain requirements before being able to participate in a regular season game. His court debut is anticipated to occur in the first few weeks of the season.
The nine-time NBA All-Star underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in July, after suffering an injury during a workout. A reevaluation was expected in September.
George played in only 41 games last season, after signing a four-year, $212 million maximum contract with Philadelphia in the summer of 2024.
During the previous season, George faced several physical problems before receiving injections in his left adductor muscle and left knee, which led him to end his participation in March.
The 6-foot-8-inch forward averaged 16.2 points last season, his lowest figure since the 2014-15 season, in which he only played six games. George has only participated in more than 56 games in a season on one occasion since the 2018-19 season.
