Aaron Nesmith Secures His Future with the Pacers with a Million-Dollar Extension
Indiana Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith has agreed to a two-year, $40.4 million contract extension, which will keep him with the franchise through the 2028-29 season. The deal includes a trade kicker, according to his agent, Mike Lindeman of Excel Sports Management.
The Pacers offered Nesmith the maximum salary allowed before the deadline for veteran contract extensions.
This agreement ensures the permanence of one of Indiana’s best defenders, following an outstanding performance in the playoffs, where he was a starter in the 23 games he played, reaching the NBA Finals.
Nesmith had an outstanding 2024-25 season, reaching career highs in field goal percentage (51%), three-point percentage (43%), and free throw percentage (91%). During the regular season, he averaged 12 points and four rebounds in 45 games.
His performance was even better in the postseason, where he took on key defensive responsibilities, facing players like Jalen Williams, Jalen Brunson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Darius Garland.
Additionally, Nesmith recorded an impressive 49.2% on three-point shots during the playoffs, the highest percentage for any player with at least 100 three-point attempts in a single postseason in NBA history.
