INDIANAPOLIS – Despite the disappointment after the defeat suffered in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers star, expressed his confidence in the team for the next game in Oklahoma City, where the series is tied 2-2.
The Pacers, after squandering a lead in the final quarter, fell to the Thunder with a score of 111-104. Haliburton acknowledged the frustration of the defeat, but emphasized the group’s resilience. It’s a frustrating loss, but I have a lot of faith in ourselves. We have to be ready to fight for all 48 minutes. It will be a challenge, but this group has been resilient all year. I wouldn’t want to go to war with any other group. The Thunder outscored the Pacers 31-17 in the final quarter, intensifying their defense and limiting the Pacers to a single free throw in the final minutes. Coach Rick Carlisle highlighted the difficulty imposed by the Thunder, pointing out the lack of rebounds and the difficulty in making key stops. As a team, we have to be ready to respond. We have to react when the situation gets difficult, and that’s where we are now.

Game 5 will be played on Monday night in Oklahoma City, a challenge that Haliburton is looking forward to.The inability to get rebounds, the inability to make key stops was part of it, and then we stalled too much. The ball wasn’t advanced quickly enough. We weren’t creating problems, and we were against the clock many times. Things got very difficult.

Despite the missed opportunity, the Pacers had five players in double figures and a nearly equal attack that gave them control for much of the game. Haliburton scored 18 points and dished out 7 assists, while Pascal Siakam added 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. We have to be ready for Game 5, entering a hostile environment. We have to be ready to play. For us to win, we will have to win one there. We have a couple of days to reflect on this, watch videos and see where we can improve. I am excited for the challenge.

The Pacers led by as much as 10 points late in the third quarter, their first double-digit lead in the Finals, and entered the final quarter with the lead for the first time in the entire series. They didn’t relinquish the lead until the 2:23 mark of the final quarter, when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a jump shot. Gilgeous-Alexander, who had no assists, scored 35 points on 12 of 24 shooting and made all 10 free throws.
Carlisle has emphasized that the Finals will be a seven-game series to be played over 18 days, preparing the Pacers for the long haul and to pull off a major upset against the Thunder. We just did our job of being annoying, playing hard, trying to mix up different players and just make it as difficult as possible for him. He’s the MVP.

The series will be defined in the basic details. This type of challenge will have extreme highs and lows. This is a low at the moment, and we will have to recover. It’s long. It’s arduous. But it’s the greatest opportunity there is. It’s really difficult, and it’s supposed to be difficult. This is where we’ll have to push ourselves and close ranks and come back stronger on Monday. This is a big disappointment, but there are three games left.
