Tim Hardaway Jr. Bolsters the Nuggets with a One-Year Contract

Free agent guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has reached a one-year agreement with the Denver Nuggets, according to sources close to the situation. Hardaway had an outstanding season with the Detroit Pistons in the 2024-25 campaign, and now joins the current NBA champions after they finalized a deal with Mark Bartelstein of PrioritySports. In the past season, Hardaway started in 77 games with the Pistons, averaging 11 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. These 77 starts represent the most in his 12-year NBA career. The Nuggets have had intense activity in recent days. Previously, according to sources, they had traded Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Cam Johnson, in addition to incorporating free agent Bruce Brown. On Tuesday, sources reported that the Nuggets acquired Jonas Valanciunas from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Dario Saric. Hardaway arrived at the Pistons from the Dallas Mavericks, where he mainly played the role of sixth man. The veteran was one of the key additions last summer that fueled a notable 30-win improvement for Detroit last season, securing them a playoff spot. The 33-year-old player has just finished the last year of a four-year, $75 million contract.
