Monte Morris Bolsters the Pacers’ Roster

Free agent point guard Monte Morris has agreed to a one-year deal with the Indiana Pacers, according to his agents, Andy Shiffman and Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports.

With nine seasons in the NBA, Morris will add depth to the Pacers’ guard line, who will face the season without their star, Tyrese Haliburton, due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Morris, 30, played last season with the Phoenix Suns, on a one-year contract for $2.8 million. In 45 games, he averaged 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.

He was originally selected by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2017 draft, where he played for five seasons.

Morris has also played for the Washington Wizards, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Detroit Pistons.
