Davion Mitchell to Renew with the Heat for 24 Million
Point guard Davion Mitchell is expected to sign a two-year, $24 million contract to continue his career with the Miami Heat, according to sources close to the negotiation.
The fully guaranteed agreement was negotiated between Heat executives and Josh Beauregard-Bell, Mitchell’s agent, belonging to Wasserman.
Mitchell, who will turn 27 in September, had a promising season finale after joining the Heat mid-season. In 30 games with the Miami team, he averaged 10.3 points per game, with a 50.4% field goal percentage and an impressive 44.7% from the three-point line.
Selected in the top 10 of the 2021 draft by the Sacramento Kings, Mitchell was traded to Toronto last summer after seeing his minutes reduced for the second consecutive season.
Nicknamed “Off-Night” for his outstanding defense against rival stars, Mitchell also demonstrated with the Heat the playmaking ability and shooting accuracy that will keep him on the court in the future.
