Luka Doncic Reveals Physical Transformation After Intense Summer Training

Luka Doncic has shared that he has taken a “huge step” in improving his health and physical condition during the summer, stating that “his whole body looks better” after two months of training in Croatia. The Lakers player has followed a gluten-free, low-sugar diet, which includes intermittent fasting and high levels of protein, consuming at least 250 grams daily.

This diet, combined with a rigorous training program, has produced notable results.

Visually, I would say that my whole body looks better.

Doncic, who has faced criticism about his weight and physical condition throughout his NBA career, had a 2024-25 season marked by injuries and the trade that took him to the Lakers. A calf injury limited Doncic to a combined minimum of 50 games, with the Mavericks and Lakers, who were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Doncic, 26 years old, has two years remaining on his contract with Los Angeles, including a player option for the 2026-27 season.

According to reports, Doncic contacted his agent to begin his training program immediately after the Lakers’ elimination.

Every summer I try to give my best to work on different things. This summer was a little different, it motivated me to be even better.

The training included a month without basketball, according to the physiotherapist Javier Barrio, who pointed out that Doncic did not resume shooting practice until June.

I think that this summer, he sees the difference and is really happy.

Doncic added that he was inspired by Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, who “sacrificed a lot” in their offseason training.

This year, with my team, I think we took a big step. But this is just the beginning, I need to keep going, I can’t stop.
