Kyle Lowry Returns to the 76ers: One More Year in Philadelphia

Experienced point guard Kyle Lowry has agreed to a one-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, securing his return to the team for the upcoming NBA season.

Lowry, who won a championship with the Raptors in 2019, is preparing for his twentieth season in the NBA and his third consecutive year with the 76ers, his hometown team.

Lowry’s presence on the Sixers’ roster will provide depth and veteran leadership, both on and off the court, complementing the team’s young point guard rotation, which includes Tyrese Maxey, Jared McCain, and VJ Edgecombe.

In the 35 games he played with the Philadelphia 76ers last season, Lowry, 39, averaged 3.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, statistics that represent career lows.

Lowry’s most recent agreement with the 76ers was for one year and $3.3 million.

Throughout his career, in addition to the 76ers, Lowry has played for the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, and Memphis Grizzlies, the team that selected him with the 24th pick in the 2006 NBA draft.
