Dereck Lively II, Mavericks center, out with injury

Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II will be out for at least the next three games due to an evaluation for inflammation and discomfort in his right foot, which was operated on.

The information was confirmed by the team on Tuesday.

Lively underwent surgery in July to treat bone spurs in his foot. Last season, he missed more than two months due to a stress fracture in his right ankle.

Previously this season, he missed nine games with a right knee sprain, returning on November 14.

Lively was absent from the last two games, and the team modified his status in the injury report, changing from right knee injury management to right foot injury management before Monday’s loss to the Miami Heat.

The Mavericks indicated that an estimate of Lively’s recovery time will be provided in approximately seven to ten days.
