Mavericks center Dereck Lively II out with foot injury
The Dallas Mavericks’ center, Dereck Lively II, will be out for at least the next three games due to an evaluation for inflammation and discomfort in his right foot, which was previously operated on. The team announced this on Tuesday.
In July, Lively underwent foot surgery to remove bone spurs. Last season, he missed more than two months due to a stress fracture in his right ankle.
Previously this season, Lively missed nine games with a sprained right knee, returning on November 14.
Lively didn’t play in the last two games, but the team modified his status on the injury report, changing from “right knee injury management” to “right foot injury management” before Monday’s road loss against the Miami Heat.
The Mavericks reported that an estimate of Lively’s recovery time will be provided in approximately seven to ten days.
