LeBron James Prioritizes Recovery for the Upcoming NBA Season
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is focusing on recovering his knee in time for the start of the 23rd season of his NBA career. James, 40, has stated that his left knee feels “good” after suffering a ligament sprain in April, following the Lakers’ defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves, which marked the end of the season. The player emphasized the importance of keeping his body in optimal condition to perform at the highest level. James, who participated in an interview talking about his role in a new commercial called “What’s Next?” for Amazon, also highlighted that he still enjoys the daily work and hasn’t lost the hunger to compete. He attributes his wife, Savannah, and his three children as one of the main reasons why he keeps going. He is inspired by the possibility of sharing the court with his eldest son, Bronny, who plays for the Lakers; seeing Bryce begin his college journey at the University of Arizona; and cheering on Zhuri in her volleyball career. James, who has a player option for next season that will pay him more than $56.2 million, stated that the best thing about his children is that they have never pressured him to end his career.I have a lot of time to take care of my injury, my knee and the rest of my body, and make sure I’m as close to 100% as possible when training camp starts at the end of September.

Last season, he averaged 24.4 points per game, along with 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds, and was selected for the All-NBA. James is aware that the end of his legendary career is approaching, but he is not sure when. He said it would be “incredible” if he stayed long enough to play with his son, Bryce, who would be draft-eligible in 2026.They say ‘Dad, go ahead with your dream. This is your dream. Stay focused. You’ve been here for us all this time’. When you have that kind of support… it makes it much easier.

At this point in my career, you think about when the end is. It’s human nature. You think: Is it this year? Or next? Those thoughts always come to your mind at this point in the road. But I haven’t given it a deadline, a specific date. I’m seeing how my body and my family react as well.
