Knicks’ Landry Shamet Out With Shoulder Injury

New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be reevaluated in four weeks due to a sprain in his right shoulder.

Shamet suffered the injury during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the Magic, after colliding with a defensive screen by Wendell Carter Jr. The player left the court visibly in pain and did not return to the game.

Sources close to the team report that Shamet has already begun the rehabilitation process for his affected shoulder.

Shamet has stood out as one of the best three-point shooters in the league this season, averaging 42.4% from the three-point line, which earned him a place in the starting lineup before the injury. Before the shoulder problem, he had had his best five-game streak of the season, scoring in double figures in four consecutive games, including a 36-point performance in the 140-132 victory over Miami.

The double-digit streak was interrupted when he scored nine points in 23 minutes in the win over Dallas last Wednesday.
