Landry Shamet Injures Shoulder in Game Against Magic

New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet suffered a right shoulder injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Orlando Magic on Saturday. The injury occurred when Shamet, who was defending Jalen Suggs in the half-court, collided with a screen set by Wendell Carter Jr. Shamet was immediately seen in pain, and had to leave the court to go to the locker room with his right arm hanging, with 9:17 left to finish the first quarter. Shamet had already suffered a dislocated right shoulder during the preseason in October 2024. Shamet’s absence was confirmed at the beginning of the second quarter against Orlando. Shamet was coming off his best streak of five games with the Knicks this season. He had scored in double figures in four straight games, including a 36-point explosion in the 140-132 victory over Miami. His streak ended with nine points in 23 minutes in the win over Dallas last Wednesday. In the game against the Mavericks, Shamet scored two three-pointers in the last minute and drew a crucial offensive foul in the last second to secure the Knicks’ victory. In addition, the Knicks reported that Miles McBride was questionable for the game due to an illness.
