Knicks’ Landry Shamet Out With Injury
New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet will be re-evaluated in four weeks due to a right shoulder sprain, sources report.
Shamet suffered the injury during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against the Magic, after colliding with a defensive screen by Wendell Carter Jr. The player left the court visibly affected and did not return to the game.
The rehabilitation process for his injured shoulder has already begun, according to the same sources.
Shamet has been one of the best three-point shooters in the league this season, averaging 42.4% from beyond the arc, earning him a starting spot before the injury. Before the shoulder issue, he had his best five-game stretch of the season, scoring in double digits in four straight games, including a 36-point effort in the 140-132 victory over Miami. This streak was interrupted when he scored nine points in 23 minutes in the win against Dallas last Wednesday.
The Knicks won in Charlotte on Wednesday night and now host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday at Madison Square Garden.
