Brandon Ingram Cleared for Contact with the Raptors

Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has been cleared for contact drills, marking a significant milestone in his recovery from an ankle injury.

He is pain-free, moving well, and has gotten stronger. He is in a really, really good place.

Darko Rajakovic, Raptors coach
Ingram, 27, a former All-Star, is expected to participate in the team’s upcoming scrimmages, according to reports. Ingram has been doing individual workouts and working with the Raptors while recovering from the injury that ended his season on December 7, when he was still playing for the New Orleans Pelicans. Ingram joined the Raptors in a trade in February that sent Bruce Brown and Kelly Olynyk to the Pelicans. Days after the trade, Ingram agreed to a three-year, $120 million extension with the Raptors, a deal that reportedly includes a player option in the 2027-28 season. He hasn’t played any games for the Raptors. He was officially ruled out for the season on April 9 after receiving a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to aid in his recovery. He was an All-Star in the 2019-20 season. Ingram averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 18 games in the 2024-25 season. In his career, he averages 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 495 games (456 as a starter) for the Los Angeles Lakers (2016-19) and the Pelicans. The Lakers selected him with the number 2 pick in the 2016 draft.
