Tyler Herro ready to debut with the Heat

The Miami Heat’s star guard, Tyler Herro, is scheduled to make his season debut on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks, according to sources close to the team.

Herro underwent ankle surgery on September 19 and will rejoin a Heat team that currently has an 11-6 record, following four consecutive wins. The Heat are averaging 124.9 points per game, the best in the league, with their new offense. Herro’s return represents the return of their top scorer from last season.

Last season, Herro dealt with a left foot condition, and subsequently suffered an ankle injury during an offseason workout, leading to the decision to undergo surgery. In the previous season, Herro averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 assists, and 5.2 rebounds.

During Herro’s absence, Norman Powell has contributed significantly to scoring, averaging 24.9 points per game.
