Hawks Send Kobe Bufkin to Nets in a Trade
The Atlanta Hawks have finalized a trade involving guard Kobe Bufkin, who will join the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for cash considerations, according to sources close to the situation.
Bufkin, selected by the Hawks with the 15th pick in the 2023 NBA draft, has a salary of $5.4 million for the current season. In addition, he has a team option for $6.9 million for the 2026-27 season.
This strategic move provides flexibility to the Hawks in terms of their roster, generating a $4.5 million trade exception. In turn, it represents a new opportunity for the 21-year-old young guard in Brooklyn.
After this transaction, the Nets have 11.6 million dollars in salary space, with 15 players under guaranteed contracts.
In the last two seasons, Bufkin participated in 27 games with the Hawks. During the 2023-24 season, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games played in the G League.
