Hawks Send Kobe Bufkin to Nets in a Trade
The Atlanta Hawks have finalized a trade that sends guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for cash considerations. The news, revealed by sources close to the matter, marks a strategic move for both franchises.
Bufkin, selected in the 15th position of the 2023 NBA draft, has a salary of $5.4 million dollars for this season and a team option for $6.9 million for the 2026-27 season.
For the Hawks, this transaction provides them with greater flexibility in their roster, in addition to generating a trade exception of $4.5 million. On the other hand, Bufkin, 21, will have a new opportunity in Brooklyn.
With this move, the Nets have $11.6 million in cap space and have 15 players with guaranteed contracts.
In his two seasons with the Hawks, Bufkin participated in 27 games. In the G League, during the 2023-24 season, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games.
