Memphis Grizzlies Bolster Roster with Kobe Bufkin
The Memphis Grizzlies plan to add guard Kobe Bufkin via a 10-day hardship exception, according to sources close to the team.
The Memphis franchise, currently dealing with numerous injuries, seeks to strengthen its roster with the arrival of Bufkin.
Key players such as Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr., Brandon Clarke, and Ty Jerome are out of the courts for several weeks, while Jaren Jackson Jr. has been absent recently due to a sprained ankle.
The Grizzlies managed to improve their record to 6-11 after obtaining their second consecutive victory on Saturday night in Dallas.
Bufkin is expected to be available to play in Monday’s home game against the Denver Nuggets.
Bufkin, selected with the 15th pick in the 2023 draft, comes from the South Bay team of the Los Angeles Lakers’ G League and is entering his third season in the NBA.
In two G League games this season, Bufkin averaged 22 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The player spent his first two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks and was traded to the Brooklyn Nets during the offseason. Bufkin was cut by the Nets after training camp.
