Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. will undergo a medical procedure due to an injury to his left big toe. The team announced the news on Saturday, and he is expected to be reevaluated in 12 weeks.
The Grizzlies announced that Pippen Jr. will undergo a sesamoidectomy to address persistent discomfort, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Last season, Pippen Jr. started 21 games for the Grizzlies, averaging 9.9 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.3 rebounds.
The player, son of the Chicago Bulls legend and Hall of Fame member, Scottie Pippen, was not selected in the 2022 draft. His rookie season was spent on a dual contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, participating in six games.
The Grizzlies signed the point guard to a dual contract in January 2024. In 100 games with Memphis, he has averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 assists.
