Scotty Pippen Jr. to undergo procedure for injury
Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. will undergo surgery due to an injury to his left big toe, the team announced this Saturday. He is expected to be reevaluated in 12 weeks.
The Grizzlies announced that Pippen Jr. will undergo a sesamoidectomy to address persistent discomfort, and a full recovery is expected.
Pippen Jr. started in 21 games with the Grizzlies last season, averaging 9.9 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.3 rebounds.
The player, son of the Chicago Bulls legend and Hall of Fame member, Scottie Pippen, was not selected in the 2022 draft after his time at Vanderbilt. During his rookie season, he signed a dual contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, participating in six games.
The Grizzlies signed the point guard to a dual contract in January 2024. In 100 games with the Memphis team, he has averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 assists.
