Giannis Antetokounmpo Envisions His Future Outside the NBA

The Milwaukee Bucks star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has expressed his desire to end his professional career playing for a Greek basketball team after retiring from the NBA. The two-time MVP is preparing to start his thirteenth season with the Bucks. During the summer, there was speculation about his possible future options. Antetokounmpo has a contract for two more seasons, which gives him the opportunity to become a free agent in the summer of 2027.

I am 30 years old, I can play in the NBA until 36-38. I would like to end my career in a Greek team, why not? I don’t want to live in the United States. As soon as I leave the NBA, I want to return to Greece.

The player, originally from Athens, Greece, began his professional basketball career with the Filathlitikos team. He played two seasons in the Greek B league before being selected in the 2013 NBA draft. Antetokounmpo also mentioned the possibility of playing for any Greek team, including Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos or Aris.
