Giannis Antetokounmpo Reiterates Commitment to Bucks, but Leaves Door Open
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo reaffirmed his dedication to the team ahead of the start of the regular season. However, the player also hinted at the possibility of a change of heart in the future. Antetokounmpo’s comments come after it was revealed that the Bucks held talks about a possible trade with the New York Knicks during the summer. Although Antetokounmpo admitted not having read the report, he reiterated his desire to compete for championships, whether in Milwaukee or elsewhere.The Greek player added that he has communicated with his teammates and with the people he respects and loves, assuring that, the moment he steps on the court or enters the facilities, the rest doesn’t matter. He is focused on what lies ahead. After missing the start of training camp in Milwaukee due to an illness, Antetokounmpo rejoined the team last weekend in Miami, before Sunday’s preseason opener, although he didn’t play. The Bucks will host the Pistons on Thursday in Milwaukee. Antetokounmpo describes himself as “focused” on the team, his teammates, the coaching staff, and himself. The player compared the offseason to a period of “temptation,” but now that training camp has begun, he has stayed away from social media and focused on his work.I’ve said this many times: I want to be in a situation where I can win.
