Giannis Antetokounmpo Exits Game Due to Injury
CLEVELAND – Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo left Monday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second quarter due to a left hamstring strain.
Antetokounmpo began to show discomfort in his groin and limped on the court on defense before committing a foul and heading to the Bucks’ locker room with 3:03 remaining in the second quarter. He was ruled out for the rest of the game after halftime.
Before the injury, the player had scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, in addition to five rebounds and four assists in 13 minutes during the first half.
Antetokounmpo has had an impressive start to the season, averaging 32.6 points with 63% shooting efficiency and 7.1 assists (both career highs), in addition to adding 11.3 rebounds in his first 12 games of this season.
The Bucks entered Monday’s game with an 8-6 record on the season, but they had a 1-1 record in games in which Antetokounmpo did not participate.
