Paul George to Debut with the 76ers on Monday
Sources from the league report that Paul George will make his debut this season with the Philadelphia 76ers in Monday night’s game against the LA Clippers.
George, who spent five seasons with the Clippers, will have a special return to his former home to face his former team. The 35-year-old player is originally from Palmdale, California.
George, who signed a four-year contract with the 76ers in the summer of 2024, participated in only 41 games last season and underwent knee surgery last July. Before missing the last six weeks of the regular season due to an injury, he averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
The nine-time All-Star joins a 76ers team that currently has a 7-5 record, led by Tyrese Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe.
The usage and availability of former MVP Joel Embiid, who has only played in six games and averages 23.3 minutes, is being monitored. George’s playing time is also likely to be managed in some way.
