Cavaliers’ Darius Garland Suffers Grade 1 Sprained Big Toe

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 sprain in his right big toe, the team announced on Sunday.

Garland will be re-evaluated within seven to ten days after the injury suffered last Wednesday.

The injury occurred during Wednesday night’s game against the 76ers, in which the Cavaliers prevailed with a score of 133-107 in Philadelphia.

Garland retired from the game in the third quarter after having the ball stolen. He was helped up and limped slowly towards the bench, where he stayed for a while before heading to the locker room.

The player had already had problems with a left foot injury, dating back to last season, which affected his performance in the playoffs. He underwent foot surgery, which delayed his start to the 2025-26 season.

Garland, a two-time All-Star, who will turn 26 this month, was averaging 17.9 points and 6.9 assists in 25 games this season. Before leaving the game on Wednesday, he had scored 20 points and dished out seven assists in 23 minutes.
