Cooper Flagg, Mavericks Rookie, Misses Game Due to Illness
Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg was unable to participate in Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks due to an illness, according to coach Jason Kidd.
The Mavericks suffered a home defeat by 113-111.
Flagg, who was the first pick of the 2025 draft, joined the injured report on Wednesday morning, along with forward Caleb Martin, and did not participate in the team’s training.
Despite the discomfort in his left shoulder and a sprain in his right thumb that has forced him to wear a splint recently, Flagg had been a starter in all the games for the Mavericks, who have a 4-11 record.
The 18-year-old player averages 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.
