Kyle Filipowski Wins Summer League MVP with the Jazz
Utah Jazz player Kyle Filipowski has been awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NBA Summer League, marking a milestone for the franchise. Filipowski, a 6’11” power forward from Duke, led the league with an average of 29.3 points per game in three games. In addition, he added 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, demonstrating his versatility on the court. His shooting efficiency was also notable, with 56.1% accuracy from the field and 39.1% from the three-point line. His best performance in the summer league was against San Antonio on July 14, where he accumulated 35 points and 11 rebounds.Filipowski seeks to use his experience in the summer league as a springboard for his role in the second season with the Jazz. In his rookie season with Utah, Filipowski participated in 72 games, starting 27 of them. He averaged 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 21.2 minutes per game. At the end of the season, he was one of only two rookies in the NBA to score more than 650 points, 400 rebounds, and 100 assists.Obviously, it’s different in the summer league versus (the regular season). I’m just trying to be myself out there right now. How that translates to the season, that’s how it’s going to be. I’m going to make the most of it that way.
