Kyle Filipowski Crowned MVP in NBA Summer League

Utah Jazz player Kyle Filipowski has been awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NBA Summer League, marking a milestone for the franchise. Filipowski, a 6’11” forward from Duke, led the league in scoring with an average of 29.3 points per game during the three games played. In addition to his outstanding scoring ability, Filipowski averaged 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, demonstrating his versatility on the court. His shooting efficiency was notable, with a 56.1% success rate on field goals and a 39.1% from the three-point line. His most outstanding performance in the summer league was against San Antonio on July 14, where he accumulated 35 points and 11 rebounds.

Obviously, it’s different in the summer league compared to the regular season. I’m just trying to be myself out there right now. How that translates into the season, that’s how it’s going to be. I’m going to make the most of it that way.

Filipowski seeks to leverage his experience in the summer league to solidify his role with the Jazz in his second NBA season. In his rookie season with Utah, Filipowski participated in 72 games, starting 27 of them. He averaged 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 21.2 minutes per game. At the end of the season, Filipowski was one of only two NBA rookies to total more than 650 points, 400 rebounds, and 100 assists.
