Kyle Filipowski Crowned MVP in NBA Summer League
Kyle Filipowski, a player for the Utah Jazz, has been awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the NBA Summer League, marking a milestone for the franchise. The 6’11” power forward from Duke proved his worth by leading the league in scoring with an average of 29.3 points per game in three games. In addition, he added 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, showing remarkable efficiency with 56.1% field goal shooting and 39.1% from the three-point line. His most outstanding performance came against San Antonio on July 14, where he accumulated 35 points and 11 rebounds.Filipowski aims for his performance in the summer league to be the boost to solidify his role with the Jazz in his second NBA season. In his rookie season with Utah, Filipowski participated in 72 games, starting 27. He averaged 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 21.2 minutes per game. At the end of the season, he became one of only two NBA rookies to score more than 650 points, 400 rebounds, and 100 assists.Obviously, it’s different in the summer league versus (the regular season). I’m just trying to be myself out there right now. How that translates to the season, that’s how it’s going to be. I’m going to make the most of it that way.
